A beautiful yet oft overlooked drive extends from the "C" overlook onto and over the mountain highlands. Impressive lava flows and unobstructed views of Cedar Breaks National Monument are easily seen from this road. Enormous groves of aspen trees make this drive particularly beautiful, in the fall. Be sure to bring a map if you plan to travel far. Note that this drive can be done in nearly any vehicle, under favorable weather conditions.
Another drive, requiring a sturdy vehicle, is the Dry Lakes Loop. This road extends from Parowan Canyon directly past Cedar Breaks and ends in Summit. Particularly impressive are the mountain meadows, and the up close views of Cedar Breaks, from a rare perspective. Be sure to check weather forecasts, as this road can become quickly impassable in the rain. Look closely for the sign to the Dry Lakes Loop up Parowan Canyon around mile 11.
